JD Grew up in Houston Texas and was thrown by his first horse at age 16. His father played the steel guitar and JD started playing his guitar at age 17. JD wrote all the songs on his album mostly from his many experiences in various bars that he has visited and enjoyed throughout his life and says he will continue writing as long as there is a Whiskey bottle and bar he can visit.
